Singing for Life is a community project involving people with memory loss and their carers in regular community-based singing sessions. The initiative is led by an experienced voice practitioner, along the lines of Singing for the Brain, and is designed to help people connect in a fun setting - stimulating memory, creating new memories, enabling sharing and communication, promoting well-being and helping support continued community engagement.
Music and Memories is part of the Singing for Life project. A series of sessions have been held at Morgannwg Care Home in Brecon (see link below). These sessions included the use of songs, objects and pictures to stimulate memory, discussion and engagement. Such was the success of the project that residents asked for further sessions to be run in 2016. One resident's daughter said "This morning was fabulous! Thank you so much. I would recommend Music and Memories for everyone and wish I hadn't missed the earlier sessions!"
